Integrated Bookkeeping Solutions

Andrew from Integrated Bookkeeping Solutions – a new business – wanted a simple site but one that could grow as his business grew. The challenge, as always, was initially having minimal content, and knowing how to present it in an engaging way!

I worked with Andrew on all aspects of his site, from choosing a domain name, registering it, organising hosting, and then getting the site started. I forget sometimes that these setup activities are like another language for clients, and it was good to be reminded that I need to keep it simple!!

Andrew was very clear that he didn’t want just a list of services – but rather, he wanted to demonstrate the benefits of using a bookkeeper to handle “all those bookkeeping jobs that you hate!”. Choice of imagery was very much about what you can do with the time you’ve saved. He also wanted an easy way for clients to make appointments, so the inclusion of a simple calendar/booking option was an important feature.

The site is based on the free ‘Responsive’ WordPress theme – primarily because it is so easy to use, and Andrew wants to be able to manage all aspects of the site himself, with training and support from me as new skills are needed.

Work included:

  • Domain name selection and registration plus organising hosting
  • WordPress install, theme selection, and subsequent customisation
  • Image selection from existing set and sourcing new ones
  • Install and customise the usual plugins! For example, Facebook, Yoast, Google maps, and others to optimise the site and help with client site management.
  • Copywriting – reworking content provided
  • Search optimisation – a work in progress!
  • Testing
  • Ongoing analytics monitoring,
  • Training and coaching for content creation etc
  • Identification of relevant sites for cross linking, etc (also a work in progress)
