I’ve just finished work on a complete redesign of the Affordable Concrete and Paving website – with the brand new site released last Friday (22 June 2012).
The site is for a family-owned business who have been in business in Christchurch for more than 20 years. Their old website was looking very tired, and also wasn’t performing at all in search engines! The new site needed to be professional but still appealing to anyone needing paving, concreting, and a host of other services, not the least of which is earthquake repair work. So, that meant anyone from home owners and renovators through to builders and councils and construction companies – all very different audiences!
I used WordPress to build the site, and of course, it’s customised quite a lot! There are only a few pages (which meant a rewrite or creation of new content), a blog, and quite a lot of image galleries – whoever thought concrete finishes would be as gorgeous as they are?! There’s also an easy contact form which also has enquiry management tools, “email this link to a friend”, and social media ‘like’ options.
The intention is to use the blog to add fresh content and images.
And, even though the site is new, it’s already performing reasonably well in Google and this will be monitored closely over the next few weeks, along with a few tweaks that nearly always happens just after a new site is released (e.g. the Finishes page takes way longer to load then any other page in the site which needs to be sorted pronto!).
Their Facebook page will be ready soon!
