Little Mate Productions owner Phil Hanlon is a film and video producer living in the northern rivers region of NSW. He produces corporate, online and wedding films and videos from the sunshine coast to Sydney (further afield when asked!).
Phil contacted me about his website a while ago, and although the website may be small, it’s taken almost as long to produce as something much larger! Pared back and simple can be very challenging, and it was too easy to clutter the website with pages for the sake of it, so it’s been an exercise in restraint to focus on exactly what was needed which is samples of Phil’s work, some fantastic testimonials, beautiful images (stills from the videos) and minimal written content with a plan for frequent updates to video content.
Design-wise, it’s a deceptively simple but very clean look – Little Mate’s logo is such a strong design element, and the site was built around that image and colour. The logo was designed by Martin Chatterton.
Ongoing management will be a learning process and ‘just-in-time’ training will focus on specific areas along with social media updates (specifically Facebook). Phil also has a Vimeo channel which is, as you would expect, very much under control!
Business cards were also needed, and these were designed to be as simple as possible.
As with 99% of the sites I produce, I’ve used WordPress with a customised premium theme. Work included:
- WordPress install, theme selection, and subsequent customisation
- Content guidance, and editing
- Training
- Install plugins including site security, analytics, etc.
- Search optimisation – this will definitely be a work in progress!
- Testing and QA
- Ongoing analytics monitoring
- Identification of relevant sites for cross linking, etc.
